Taxiway formed in Nashville, TN in the spring of 2021. Initially conceived in 2020 during the COVID-19 lockdowns as a bedroom pop outlet for singer/songwriter Mike Aurand, Taxiway now operates as a full band with Mike’s wife Emily Guthrie on drums, and husband/wife duo Joseph and Emily Jared on lead guitar and bass.

Our sound is a blend of dream pop, post-rock, and americana in the vein of The XX, The National, and U2. Our music is heavily-focused on songwriting, carried by atmospheric instrumentation using a minimalist stage set up. We released our debut full-length album “Absence” in November 2021, and our second album, “This Is Permanent,” in December 2023 through Watch It Burn Records.
